LAEMMLE Chemicals AG is now carbon-neutral

Madetswil, 27 June 2023 – A groundbreaking step in the lubricants industry. With immediate effect, LAEMMLE Chemicals AG, based in Madetswil ZH, is CO2-neutral.

With immediate effect, all ROXOR lubricants in Madetswil are produced and delivered CO2-neutrally. Following extensive calculations and reduction efforts, the management has decided to eliminate the remaining CO2 emissions through full offsetting. This involves offsetting all emissions from the office building, production, the laboratory and delivery logistics. Customers of LAEMMLE Chemicals AG now receive the tried-and-tested ROXOR lubricants CO2-neutrally.

In collaboration with the ‘KMU Clima’ Foundation, a forest area in Uruguay is being reforested. Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and release oxygen. The Winterthur-based KMU Clima has already successfully implemented several projects in Uruguay. This was a decisive factor for LAEMMLE Chemicals AG. Because only truly feasible CO2 offset projects make sense and are credible.

“However, we are committed to further reducing our own CO2 emissions,” says Silvan Lämmle, CEO Marketing & Sales. “Sometimes this takes several years. New technologies cannot be implemented overnight,” explains Sarah Mohr-Lämmle, CEO Production & Technology. “Furthermore, we are aware that, as things stand today, not all CO2 emissions can simply be reduced. Therefore, offsetting the remaining emissions will also be necessary in the near future,” adds Silvan Lämmle.

This is a groundbreaking step in the domestic lubricants industry and a milestone in the pursuit of sustainability in perfection. The specially printed guiding principle ‘Chemistry with Responsibility’ is gradually being filled with content.

About the reforestation project:
The KMU Clima Foundation’s project includes the reforestation of the foundation’s own fallow land, with an emphasis on native tree species and a focus on biodiversity. The aim of the project is to increase the areas’ CO₂ absorption through reforestation, to regenerate the fallow land sustainably, to preserve the region’s natural forests and to improve the socio-economic status of the local population. Through the foundation’s own properties, the Foundation KMU Clima is independent and creates complete transparency.
