LAEMMLE Chemicals AG joins the Swiss Power-to-X Collaborative Innovation Network (SPIN)
Madetswil/Zurich, May 20, 2026 – LAEMMLE Chemicals AG, a Swiss specialist in lubricants, oils and chemical-technical products, is a new member of the Swiss Power-to-X Collaborative Innovation Network (SPIN). With this new member, SPIN is expanding its expertise in the field of sustainable speciality chemicals and the circular economy.
LAEMMLE Chemicals AG, founded in 1949 as PANOLIN AG and headquartered in (ZH), develops, manufactures and distributes engine oils, hydraulic oils, industrial and speciality lubricants, as well as cleaning products and other chemical-technical products. The family-run company employs around 150 staff and positions itself as a specialist Swiss supplier with a focus on quality, service and sustainability. Under the ROXOR brand, LAEMMLE offers a wide range of products for commercial vehicles, passenger cars, industrial and maritime applications. Madetswil All products are formulated and manufactured in Switzerland, are based on high-quality base oils and modern additives, and are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Additional certifications, such as ABS, are available for the maritime sector.
Chemistry with a sense of responsibility
According to the company, LAEMMLE is committed to ‘chemistry with responsibility’: production and dispatch are organised to be CO₂-neutral, utilising geothermal energy, amongst other measures. Drums are reconditioned for reuse, and new products based on recycled raw materials — such as lubricants made from reprocessed waste oil — are designed to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and resource consumption.
Contribution to the SPIN ecosystem
Power-to-X is frequently discussed, particularly in connection with hydrogen, e-fuels and synthetic gases. However, the broader decarbonisation of the chemical industry is also being driven by companies that are already operating today according to circular and low-carbon principles. Lubricants and industrial fluids are an essential — and often overlooked — component of the energy transition: they are used in transport, manufacturing and infrastructure, and their raw material supply chains are crucial.
With the addition of LAEMMLE Chemicals AG, SPIN gains concrete experience in the Swiss production of chemical-technical products and in the handling of circular raw materials, as well as access to mobility and industrial segments that will be relevant to the ramp-up of synthetic and bio-based raw materials.
