Steam rollers, gusts of wind and the ROXOR bouncy castle: ROXOR at the Weiach Historik
Weiach Historik has long been a fixture in the Zurich Unterland when it comes to historic construction machinery, lorries and a passion for technology. Over 20,000 visitors flocked to the site at the weekend, where lovingly restored vintage vehicles met modern technology and steam rollers, alongside the latest machinery, left onlookers in awe.
Right in the thick of it: ROXOR.
We were also present at this year’s Weiach Historik and had the pleasure of holding many interesting conversations throughout the weekend, as well as welcoming both familiar and new faces. Jürg from the field sales team and Tamara from marketing were there. On Sunday, Silvan and a few other colleagues also popped by.
Wind-proof? More like wind-tested.
Fortunately, the weekend stayed dry, although at times the wind clearly had a mind of its own when it came to our stand.
When Jürg and Tamara returned from lunch, they were greeted with the words:
“By the way, we’ve already saved your tent twice.”
Our neighbours at the stand actually had to hold the ROXOR tent in place for a while to stop it from spontaneously moving. Shortly afterwards, a parasol also bid a final farewell to the weekend.
From that moment on, it was clear:
This was no longer just about exhibiting; now it was time to improvise.
The tent was secured further, everything was stowed away securely, and suddenly even our giveaway key rings played a key role in stabilising the stand.
Fortunately, our neighbours took the whole thing in their stride. They were serving caipirinhas, which is why there was always a great atmosphere around our ‘neighbourhood’.
The weekend was less relaxing for other exhibitors: a neighbouring tent was completely destroyed by the wind, so understandably, motivation for the rest of the event was rather limited there.
The new ROXOR bouncy castle was, of course, put through its paces
A definite highlight for our younger visitors was our large ROXOR bouncy castle, which was set up for the very first time.
However, before the children took over, an internal test run had to be carried out first. Jürg and Tamara volunteered to personally inaugurate the bouncy castle – purely for quality control purposes, of course.
After that, we headed straight over to the pedal tractors, which sparked at least as much enthusiasm as the historic machines. Amidst the technology, refreshments and plenty of chats by the machines, technical discussions and attractions, there was also plenty of time for a cosy get-together.
There were various food and sweet stalls on the site, which proved just as popular with visitors as the machines themselves.
A little highlight on the side:
Tamara from Austria tried Magenbrot for the first time this weekend and was apparently so taken with it that she polished off a whole bag of it straight away.
Weiach Historik has once again demonstrated just how much passion, enthusiasm for technology and a sense of community there is in this industry. For ROXOR, the weekend was a great opportunity to raise our profile, catch up with familiar faces and make new contacts.
